Ghana: The Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) has selected a female to be the running mate for Mr. Kofi Akpaloo who has been endorsed by the party as its presidential candidate for the 2020 general elections.
The running mate in the person of Mrs. Margaret Obrian Sarfo is a businesswoman who is tasked to help the LPG capture power in the upcoming elections.
13 national executives of the party were also acclaimed to aid the party to capture political power.
The executive members are Mr John Ameka, National Chairman; Mrs Sophia Akpaloo, National First Vice-Chairman; Mrs Eunice Adu, National Third Vice-Chairman; Mrs Sarah Grant, General Secretary, and Mr Fleischer Lartey, National Organiser.
Others are Mr Clement Boadi, National Youth Organiser; Mr Samuel Owusu Afriyie, National Communications Director; Alhaji Adam Sulley, National Zongo Coordinator; Mrs Krystle Houston, Director of International Relations, and Mr Jerry Owusu Appiah, Director of Operations and Elections.
Mr. Akpaloo addressing members of the party said he is glad to have been selected and assured the party of victory saying, “I pray that your effort will not be in vain and your desire to see me become President of our dear nation will be realised”.
For her part, Mrs Sarfo expressed her gratitude to the leader of the party for nominating her to be his running mate.
She observed that the task ahead — winning this year’s elections — was daunting but expressed optimism that it was achievable.
She, therefore, urged all the members to work harder and start winning votes for the party’s presidential and parliamentary candidates with immediate effect.
