The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Prince Gabriel Waabu, has affirmed the unwavering commitment of the Ghana Police Service to ensuring a peaceful and incident-free conduct of the upcoming 2024 elections. This assurance came during an interview on JoyNews held on Monday, February 19, 2024.

DCOP Waabu underscored the implementation of various structures and strategies by the Ghana Police Service to ensure the safety and security of citizens throughout the electoral process. Notable measures include extensive sensitization programs and collaborative efforts with other relevant agencies to address potential challenges.

Emphasizing ongoing training initiatives, DCOP Waabu mentioned that over 300 recruits are currently undergoing training, expected to graduate soon. This influx of newly trained personnel aims to significantly enhance the capacity of the police force in effectively handling any security concerns during the elections.

Speaking at the launch of JoyNews’ 2024 Election Coverage, #ElectionHQ, DCOP Waabu referenced the successful execution of internal elections last year as a testament to the Ghana Police Service’s readiness and capability to manage electoral processes effectively.

Confident in maintaining high levels of professionalism and efficiency, DCOP Waabu assures the Ghanaian public that the police force is well-prepared to ensure a secure and peaceful 2024 electoral process.
