On June 15th, 2024, the GH Support Association (GHSAC) celebrated its annual awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding contributions within the Ghanaian community in Germany. Among the honorees, Jim B. Ennin, affectionately known as “GQ,” was awarded the prestigious Best Leadership Award 2024.
The ceremony, held in Saarbrucken, marked a significant moment for the association, which boasts a membership of over 100 individuals. GHSAC, dedicated to supporting Ghanaians in Germany, honored 11 distinguished individuals for their exemplary service and commitment to the community.
Jim B. Ennin, the founder and current chairman of GHSAC, received the Best Leadership Award in recognition of his unwavering support for Ghanaians in need. Now in the second term of his five-year mandate, Ennin has been a pivotal figure in the association, guiding it since its inception in June 2014. Under his leadership, GHSAC has grown into a vital support network, offering financial assistance and community support to its members.
Through his role as the president of the association, Jim B. Ennin has played a crucial role in assisting Ghanaians who travel to Germany for the first time. He has been instrumental in helping newcomers settle, providing guidance and support in navigating the challenges of a new environment. Additionally, Ennin has assisted many in renewing their visas, ensuring that their legal status in Germany is secure. In times of financial hardship, he has extended a helping hand, offering financial support to those who find themselves in difficult situations.
In his acceptance speech, Jim B. Ennin expressed heartfelt gratitude to the awards committee and the members of GHSAC. He emphasized the importance of the association’s mission and dedicated the award to his wife, Queen Helen, acknowledging her unwavering support. Ennin remarked, “This award is a recognition of our collective effort to support Ghanaians who are in need in Germany. It is a testament to the strength of our community and our commitment to helping each other.”
GHSAC, known for its strong community spirit, provides various forms of support to its members. One notable initiative includes offering financial assistance of 1000 euros to members during significant life events. This initiative, along with Ennin’s personal efforts, has been instrumental in helping many Ghanaians settle well in Germany and build a supportive network.
