The Mpraeso Circuit Court has remanded Kwaku Siaw, a ‘pragia’ rider, into police custody for the alleged murder of his 18-year-old lover, Adwo Kutremor.
The 24-year-old Kwaku Siaw is accused of slitting the throat of his lactating lover at Nkawkaw Krofoforom after accusing her of infidelity.
After committing the act at their home, the suspect reportedly told his parents that the deceased had gone to her mother’s house when they inquired about her whereabouts. However, the baby’s cries raised suspicion, prompting further questions, which led to Siaw fleeing the scene.
Kwaku Siaw, who went into hiding on Thursday, was arrested at Akyem Asante Juaso with the help of Nkawkaw police after he called his father to inform him of his location.
According to Citi News sources, Siaw admitted in his caution statement that he committed the crime after suspecting his girlfriend was involved with another man.
The Mpraeso Circuit Court, presided over by Her Ladyship Adwoa Akyemaa, has remanded him into police custody, with the case adjourned to September 4, 2024.
